Woman shot, in custody after leading police on chase through Myrtle Beach
A Sumter woman was arrested Tuesday morning after leading Horry County police on a chase from Wal-Mart on S.C. 544 to 37th Avenue North and U.S. 17 Business.
The woman, whose name was not immediately known, was reportedly shot in the arm, said Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman for Horry police.
Witnesses reported one of the tires on the car the woman was driving was flattened by a police spike strip, Denis said.
Officers from Myrtle Beach and Horry County briefed area media shortly before noon today.
