Family, officials offering reward for man who went missing a year ago

Law enforcement officials and family members are offering a reward for information about a man who went missing a year ago Friday after visiting a Bluff Road store.

Montey Donnell “Duke” Thomas, 46, was last seen at Rick’s Party Shop at 3050 Bluff Road on Nov. 20, 2014, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Thomas called his mother several times from inside the business, and when he couldn’t reach her for a ride, he left the shop. Video surveillance from inside the store shows Thomas walking out the front door. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Thomas is African-American, about 5 feet 9 inches and weighing 175 pounds, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Family and officials are offering a $3,000 reward for information as to his whereabouts. Anyone with such information should call crimestoppers at 1-888-crime-sc.
