The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has charged a woman on Monday with three counts of attempted murder following a house fire.

Monica Lynn Calderwood, 29, set fire to a family member’s home on Nov. 18 while she and three other individuals were inside, said Lexington County Captain Adam Myrick, adding that Calderwood has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of arson.

Neither the three individuals, nor Calderwood suffered life-threatening injuries in the fire, according to Myrick, who said the house is on Rollingwood Dr., off of Old Cherokee Rd.

Calderwood was arrested Nov. 20 in Georgia by Richmond County deputies and is being held at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center in Augusta while she awaits an extradition hearing, Myrick said.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
