Sumter County residents charged with unlawful neglect of a child
Two Sumter County residents were arrested Monday and charged with unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by a legal custodian, said the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Andrew Floyd, Sr., 34, and Amanda Floyd, 29, are alleged to have placed at unreasonable risk of harm or did cause to be done unlawfully or maliciously any bodily harm to a 12-year-old boy, said Sumter County Public Information Officer Braden Bunch.
Andrew Floyd, Sr. and Amanda Floyd are alleged to have deprived the child of food, issued extreme punishment of activity for hours, restricted the child from using the bathroom at home and forced the child to wear an adult diaper during the day at school, according to Bunch.
