Fatal shooting investigation in Aiken County

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one man dead Monday.

Deputies responded to 911 calls around 4:48 p.m. about gun shots in the Beech Island area and found a dead man, said Aiken Public Information Officer Eric Abdullah. Another man admitted he was involved in the incident and is being questioned by investigators, according to Abdullah, who added that the shooting appears to be drug related.

Abdullah said no charges have been filed yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
