Sumter Sheriff’s arrest man for allegedly assault with a bottle

A man was arrested by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Monday for allegedly hitting someone in the eye with a glass bottle.

Jonathan Cole, 25, was charged with first degree assault and battery from the Nov. 26 incident that occurred on the 3800 block of Broad St., said Sumter Public Information Officer Braden Bunch.

Cole’s being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, Bunch said.
