Body found, Richland County authorities investigating as suspicious death

Richland County sheriff’s deputies discovered the body of a man in a residence on the 900 block of Spears Drive near Elgin, Tuesday.

Authorities were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m. , Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Curtis Wilson said. He declined to comment on whether there were any obvious wounds on the body.

Authorities are investigating it as a suspicious death, Wilson said.
