Richland County Sheriff seeking suspect after man’s shot inside vehicle

A man was shot inside of a vehicle on Sunday according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The unidentified man was inside of his brother’s vehicle when unknown suspects fired several shots into the vehicle, said Richland County Public Information Officer & Community Liaison Curtis Wilson.

The man was shot in the lower body, suffering a non-life threatening injury, Wilson said of the incident that occurred just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Dunnagon St. and Newnham Dr. – a block off of Piney Grove Rd. and close to where it meets Broad River Rd.

Wilson said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
