Goose Creek Man riding scooter killed in car accident
A man riding a scooter was struck and killed in an accident with a car on Saturday, according to the Berkeley County Coroner.
Verbus A. Taylor, 63, of Goose Creek, was on a handicap scooter attempting to cross Red Bank Rd., near Goose Creek High School, when he was struck by a car at 11:45 p.m., said Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
Salisbury said he pronounced Taylor dead on the scene because of blunt-force trauma to the body. The death was ruled accidental by South Carolina Highway Patrol and Salisbury, who said the driver of the car wasn’t injured.
