Man shot Wednesday night in southeast Richland County

Richland County authorities are investigating a shooting Wednesday night at Shagbark Avenue and Hickory Ridge Drive that sent a man to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, Curtis Wilson of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

The sheriff’s department was called just before 8 p.m. to the 2900 block of Leesburg Road. It was there that deputies found the victim, who had been driven by unknown individuals the approximately 4 miles from the site of the shooting to where he was found.

An investigation into the shooting continues, Wilson said.
