Columbia woman who died after early Wednesday traffic accident is identified

COLUMBIA, SC Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the Columbia woman who died as the result of an early Wednesday morning traffic accident on Old Woodlands Road as Taylor Ann Benton, 24.

Around 2:50 a.m., Benton was thrown from her vehicle when it left the road and struck a brick mailbox and two trees, Watts said. She was taken to a local hospital where she died at 3:28 a.m. from acident related injuries.

The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate the accident.
