A 46-year-old Gilbert man thought he was communicating with a minor on the Internet when he solicited sex and emailed sexually explicit photos of himself, SC Attorney General Alan Wilson said in a news release Thursday.

Charles Tobin McMillan was charged with one count of criminal sexual solicitation of a minor and one count of attempted dissemination of obscene material to a minor 18 years or younger.

If convicted on both counts he could face up to 20 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
