A 23-year-old man is facing charges in connection with an alleged assault Saturday night.
Richland County deputies responded to an aggravated assault call and a possible domestic disturbance just after 8 p.m. on Camrose Court, according to a news release.
When deputies arrived at the residence, a male suspect fired several shots, striking the patrol car multiple times, the news release said. The suspect then fled into the woods.
Deputies found Akeem Breeland in the woods and took him to a hospital, where he was treated for hypothermia and an undisclosed pre-existing health condition, the news release said.
Breeland is facing charges of attempted murder, unlawful carry of a handgun, and unlawful use of a handgun during the commission of a violent crime, the news release said.
