Richland County authorities charged a 59-year-old woman with abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult she had been hired to care for, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release.

Miriam Reese turned herself in to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday.

Reese was the in-home caregiver for a 91-year-old woman “who was unable to fend for herself,” Lott said.

The victim’s daughter reported the alleged abuse to authorities on November 4, 2015 after it was captured on surveillance equipment in the victim’s home.
