Male victim taken to hospital following Thursday night shooting in Hopkins

A shooting Thursday night in Hopkins has injured one person, the Richland County Sheriff’s department said.

Deputies were called to Jade Tree Drive at Album Leaf Drive in a neighborhood off Old Leesburg Road just before 8 p.m.

A male victim was found with gun shot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known at this write.

Deputies were interviewing witnesses and acquaintances to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and who was responsible, sheriff department spokesman Curtis Wilson said.
