Lexington Police investigating man’s death

The Town of Lexington Police Department is investigating the killing of a man on Sunday night.

At 8:37 p.m., the Lexington Police responded to a possible shooting at a business on Riverchase Way, near Corley Mill Rd., said Cpl. Cameron Mortenson, a Public Information Officer. Cpl. Mortenson said when officers arrived at the business’ parking lot, they found a dead man.

Cpl. Mortenson said there was evidence of a gun shot wound, but that hasn’t been ruled as the official cause of death. According to Cpl. Mortenson, the investigation is active and also includes the involvement of SLED and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, which will release any details about the dead man.

Cpl. Mortenson wouldn’t say if there are any suspects in custody, or how many could be the subject of the active investigation.
