The Richland County Sheriff Department will conduct traffic safety checkpoints near South Beltline Boulevard Feb. 27, the department announced in a news release.
Checkpoints are intended to reduce traffic accidents and fatalities, make everyone a defensive driver and encourage the use of seat belts, Sheriff Leon Lott said in the release.
The department’s traffic safety unit, which conducts the checkpoints, can provide education and awareness to communities, church groups and businesses. Contact the unit at 803-865-8367.
