Inmate threatens lives of judge, deputy sheriff

SLED agents charged a state prison inmate for threatening the lives of a circuit court judge and a Fairfield County deputy sheriff.

Marvin Kadarro Workman, 30, was charged with two counts of Threatening life, person or family of a public employee, said SLED public information liaison Thom Berry. The charges are misdemeanors which carry penalties of 30 days in prison, a $500 fine, or both, Berry said.

Workman threatened the lives of SC circuit court judge Brian Gibbons and Fairfield County deputy sheriff Oren Gadson, according to Berry, who added the incident occurred Sept. 2, 2015 at the Fairfield County Courthouse.

Berry said the case will be prosecuted by the SC Attorney General’s Office.
