Fatal shooting in Northeast Richland County

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night in Northeast Richland County.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call on the 400 block of Seton Hall Drive, said public information liaison Sgt. Brittany Scott. Upon arriving at the scene, Sgt. Scott said deputies discovered a vehicle that had crashed, although she wouldn’t say what it had crashed in to, or the cause of the accident.

Inside of the vehicle, Sgt. Scott said deputies found a man who had been shot multiple times. The man was transported to an area hospital, but was declared dead.

Sgt. Scott said the Richland County Sheriff’s are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and are trying to identify possible suspects and are looking for a motive. No other details were made available about the incident.

The car was discovered less than 3 miles away from the intersection of Clemson Road and Two Notch Road.
