Armed robbery suspect steals money from hotel

COLUMBIA, SC The Columbia Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a hotel where a suspect wielding a gun stole money, according to the department.

An unknown male walked into the Hilton Homewood Suites, 230 Greystone Blvd., shortly before midnight Wednesday, according to a news release. He brandished a gun and pointed it at a female clerk while demanding money. He then ordered her on the ground.

The suspect also stole a video game case from over the counter, the release stated.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

A surveillance video showed the suspect wore a hoodie with the words “Straight Outta Carolina” on the back, gray jeans, a black mask, purple latex gloves and white and black “DC-style” tennis shoes.
