Teen charged with attempted murder after turning self into Richland County Sheriff
A teenager was charged with four counts of attempted murder along with other charges by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department on Monday.
Donnie Dimele Jr., 19, was charged with four counts of attempted murder, shooting into a dwelling, malicious injury to personal property, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, said Richland County public information liaison Sgt. Brittany Scott.
Dimele’s accused of going to a residence on Wilkinson Drive, near Blythewood, just after 5:30 on March 8, and firing multiple gunshots that struck the residence and a vehicle, Richalnd County Sheriff Leon Lott said in a statement, adding the residence’s primary occupant was standing at the front door and witnessed Dimele fire the shots in her direction.
Three other occupants were inside the residence, but no one was injured, said Lott, adding Dimele is an acquaintance of the primary occupant’s son.
Dimele turned himself into Richland County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, three days after Lott asked for the community’s assistance in locating Dimele. According to Lott, Dimele has been transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
