Domino’s Pizza, Kangaroo Express armed robber sentenced to 50 years
A repeat offender who pleaded guilty to robbing a gas station and pizza restaurants this summer and was sentenced in Lexington County Wednesday.
S.C. Circuit Court Judge Knox McMahon sentenced Sean Larmont Stroman, 25, of Columbia to a total of 50 years for armed robberies and kidnappings, according to a news release from Solicitor Donnie Myers’ office. Stroman was less than a week away from a scheduled jury trial when he pleaded.
Stroman robbed a Kangaroo Express on Bush River Road of money and cigarettes using a handgun July 27. He then held employees at a Domino’s Pizza in Irmo at gunpoint Aug. 10 until they opened a safe. He then left the restaurant with all of the cash, the release stated.
On Aug. 18, Stroman entered a Domino’s Pizza in St. Andrews and used the same pistol to order three employees on the floor while stealing money from the business.
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Irmo Police Department were able to identify Stroman from surveillance video by his neck tattoos and a photo lineup.
LCSD’s fugitive task force arrested Stroman in August, where he had $2,000 cash on him. The release stated he also hid his loaded pistol in his child’s Spiderman book bag in a car.
In a written statement, Stroman confessed to the crimes.
He has a prior felony conviction in Georgia and was also wanted in Greenwood and Richland County for other violent crimes.
Solicitor Donnie Myers said Stroman is a violent offender who “puts fear in the hearts of those he threatens with his gun.”
“The public can rest easier knowing he is no longer on our streets,” Myers said.
