3 persons-of-interest sought in 5 Points hit-and-run
The Columbia Police released surveillance screen shots of two men and a woman wanted for questioning following a Sunday hit-and-run on Harden Street that sent a woman to the hospital.
What culminated in the hit-and-run started as a verbal and physical fight around 2 a.m. between three people and an 18-year-old woman and her friends near the corner of Harden and Greene Streets, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said.
The three people captured in the surveillance photos match the description of the three people involved in the altercation, Holbrook said.
The initial fight which started near 748 Harden Street moved down the block into the parking lot at Harpers Restaurant at Harden Street and Devine Street. In the parking lot “someone intentionally hit the victim with a car, dragging her several yards before speeding away from the scene,” Holbrook said.
The victim is still in the hospital with a broken ankle and road rash. A male friend of the victim was also struck by the car but was not injured, Holbrook said.
Police are looking for a white older model car with tinted windows that might have damage to the passenger side and undercarriage.
Investigators are still gathering witness statements and searching for other surveillance video sources.
