Remembering SC firefighters who have fallen

The S.C. State Association of Fire Chiefs and other firefighters from around the state gathered Wednesday in Columbia to remember those in their ranks who died recently.

Honored at the S.C. Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the S.C. Fire Academy were:

▪ Tyron Weston, 51, Columbia Fire Department, Richland County (2015). The 25-year veteran died in July following a sudden illness.

▪ Michael L. Broz, 58, Dorchester County Fire Rescue (2013)

▪ Kenneth M. Stanton, Sr., 52, Sandy Springs Fire Department, Anderson County (2015)

▪ Stuart G. Hardy, 31, Burton Fire District, Beaufort County (2015)
