Gilbert man killed in single car crash late Friday night

Shortly before midnight Friday, Scott R. Woodcock’s truck ran off Crystal Springs Road north of Pelion and overturned.

The 58-year-old Gilbert man was taken to Lexington Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after arriving, Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said in a news release.

An autopsy performed Saturday determined he died of blunt force trauma, Fisher said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
