Driver not wearing seat belt ejected, killed on I-77

S.C. Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle wreck on Interstate 77 where an unbelted driver died after he was ejected from his SUV.

The driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer was driving southbound on I-77 Tuesday and lost control of the vehicle, striking the side of a Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Lauren Bradley of Columbia. The driver of the Trailblazer then struck the side of a 2012 Ford Fiesta driven by Marvin Bail of Columbia

The driver of the Trailblazer, who is also from Columbia, then drove off the right side of the roadway and overturned several times before being ejected from the vehicle.

The drivers of the two other vehicles were wearing seatbelts and were transported to Palmetto Health Richland for their injuries.

The driver of the Trailblazer was not wearing a seatbelt and was also transported to the hospital before succumbing to injuries.

Troopers continue to investigate this case.
