Police: Ex-girlfriend, her friends robbed victim at gunpoint, knifepoint

Police are investigating an incident where a man said he was robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by an ex-girlfriend and her friends Friday night.

A 20-year-old Camden man and family members reported his ex-girlfriend and two of her male friends held him around 10:40 p.m. against his will and robbed him of cash and a cell phone, according to the incident report.

The victim told police his ex-girlfriend, a Lugoff resident, had called him Friday and asked to meet at McDonald’s, 215 DeKalb St. He said once they met he bought her food, and then she asked him to drive her and her friends to Cooper Street to purchase marijuana, the report stated.

When he drove them to the area, they asked him to pull into the driveway of a vacant home.

At that point, the ex-girlfriend reportedly exited the vehicle, walked to the driver’s door and pointed a gun at the victim’s head. At the same time, one of the males put his arm around the victim and held a knife up to his neck. The other suspect reportedly stole an iPhone 4 with a cracked screen and stole $169 in cash from the suspect.

The victim told police he was able to drive away and left the suspects at that location.

No injuries were reported from the incident.

He said he did not tell his mother until Sunday, and she filed a police report Monday morning.

No arrests have been made in this case as of Wednesday, and the investigation is ongoing.
