Richland County Sheriff investigating suspicious death

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a suspicious death after discovering a deceased woman Monday night.

The woman was discovered on the 2500 block of Bendermeer Drive, near Leesburg Road, around 9 p.m., according to Richland County public information liaison Lt. Curtis Wilson, who said deputies were responding to a hang up phone call to 911 from the area.

Lt. Wilson said the woman was unresponsive and EMS pronounced her dead. The death is currently categorized as suspicious and Lt. Wilson said the investigation in ongoing and involves the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
