Sumter club owner charged with attempted murder
A club owner was arrested by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office after admitting he shot a man following an argument Sunday.
Leroy Robinson, 67, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Sumter public information officer Ken Bell, who said deputies responded to a reported shooting incident at Roy’s Club located at 973 St. Paul Church Road at 2:50 a.m.
Robinson admitted to shooting a 26-year-old man, who was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Bell said.
Investigators said other charges could be forthcoming.
