Man shot outside of Columbia Place Mall on Saturday

A man was shot outside of Columbia Place Mall around noon Saturday.

Richland County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting after receiving a shots-fired call just after noon, according to Lt. Curtis Wilson. Deputies arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to the lower body outside the mall in the area of the Burlington Coat Factory store, Wilson said.

The man was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The stores at the mall remain open.
