A man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulted her early Saturday morning, according to Richland County Sheriff’s deputies.

The female victim and a male acquaintance were at her home when her ex-boyfriend showed up and demanded the male acquaintance leave, which he did, deputies say.

The ex-boyfriend left but then returned to the home, kicked in the door and pointed a handgun at the woman, deputies say. When the woman tried to defend herself, her ex-boyfriend assaulted her, deputies say.

The suspect left and was later arrested at his home after midnight Saturday.

Shadon Beane, 29, has been charged with criminal domestic violence and was being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Saturday morning.
