Lexington Co. coroner identifies man killed in car accident

A man who was killed in a single-vehicle accident Monday was identified by the Lexington County Coroner.

Russell Kelly, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene after his crash at 2408 Augusta Highway, near the intersection with Pisgah Church Road, said Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, adding the Gilbert resident’s accident occurred at approximately 3:55 p.m.

Fisher said the accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol and an autopsy will be performed on Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
