Police: Man found dead last week robbed Rite Aid day prior
A suspect in a pharmacy robbery last week was found dead the next day on a nearby road, according to police.
Columbia police reported that a man had threatened a clerk and stolen cash from Rite Aid, 6500 Garners Ferry Road, across the street from the University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine.
The next day, police said a male had been found dead near Old Davidson Road nearby with no obvious signs of trauma.
Police did not identify the man or cause of death, saying the Richland County Coroner’s Office will do so.
No injuries were reported from the robbery.
