Surveillance cameras caught a suspect stealing a credit card at a gas station in Elgin earlier this month, and deputies are asking for the public’s help.

Investigators with the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office reviewed a video from a BP gas station on White Pond Road from June 10 and saw a suspect taking a credit card from that location, according to a news release from the office.

The suspect has since used the card at a few locations, including at a business in Richland County.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set, older, white male. He was wearing a baseball cap at the time of the incident.

He was seen riding as a passenger in a red Isuzu Rodeo.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Crimestoppers at -888-CRIME-SC, www.sccrimestoppers.com or text “TIPSC” plus the message to CRIMES (274637).
