Woman charged with attempted murder at hair salon on Two Notch Road

Deputies charged a woman with attempted murder after they found a shooting victim inside a hair salon on Two Notch Road in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Officers responded to 6432 Two Notch Road, Unlimited Styles of Art, just before 12:30 a.m., according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. They found a victim who had been shot in the lower body.

The victim was taken to Palmetto Health Richland with non-life-threatening injuries, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Curtis Wilson said.

Investigators identified Niketa Scott, 30, as the suspect. Scott turned herself in to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson said.

Richland deputies picked Scott up and took her to the sheriff’s department headquarters, Wilson said. She was then taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
