Suspect pictured in Kershaw County burglary wanted by sheriff’s office

The Kershaw County Sheriffs Office is asking for the community’s help in locating a man wanted for burglary.

A man was pictured on Saturday stealing an outside air conditioning unit at a residence on Smyrna Church Road in Elgin, near Richland County, according to public information liaison Capt. Steve Knafelc, who said the suspect allegedly tried to gain entry in a back door, but wasn’t successful.

Capt. Knafelc said the same residence was burglarized earlier in the week and suspects the man in Saturday’s incident has knowledge or was involved in the first crime.
