SC prison inmate charged with stalking
A man being held at the Manning Correctional Institution in Columbia has been charged with stalking and threatening a Jasper County woman, the State Law Enforcement Division said in a news release.
Joseph Singleton, Jr., 36, is accused of sending about 20 letters threatening to kill the victim, the warrant states.
Singleton was in prison on a burglary charge and harassment charge. He was moved to the the Columbia facility in April and placed in pre-release status, the SC Department of Corrections website showed. He was set to be released next month.
Stalking is a felony and if convicted, Singleton could face 15 years in prison plus a $10,000 fine.
