Backpack stuffed with beer and cash, suspect sought

Lexington police hope the public can help identify this man, suspected of stealing beer and cash from an S-Mart gas station on Saturday morning, July 23.

Surveillance video captured the man around 8:30 a.m. walking into the 4301 Sunset Blvd. S-Mart. Authorities believe he filled his large gray backpack with beer from the cooler and then walked into the unlocked office where he took a large amount of cash that had been left on top of the desk.

The shoplifter is described as between 35 and 40-years-old and last seen wearing a white t-shirt, long denim shorts, black tennis shoes and sunglasses.
