Shots fired at Clemson Road Taco Bell
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident involving gunfire Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Clemson Road Taco Bell.
A man went to the fast food restaurant parking lot to show a cell phone he advertised on Craig’s List to a potential buyer. He arrived at the arranged meeting time, said Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Curtis Wilson.
He told deputies that he handed the phone to the potential buyer to inspect but was getting a bad vibe heightened by the fact that the seller’s child was in his car.
He said the man, still holding his phone, turned and ran at which point, the seller grabbed a gun and fired ‘multiple times’ but the alleged thief kept running.
No one was injured in the incident, Wilson said.
Deputies continue their investigation.
Wilson reminds people who buy and sell items on Craig’s List that the Richland County Sheriff’s Department offers safe places for such transaction. It has placed “Internet Exchange Safety Zone” signs at five of its eight regions throughout Richland County.
