Orangeburg coroner releases findings of autopsy performed on woman killed on I-26
A preliminary autopsy report has found that a Columbia woman who was struck by several vehicles on Interstate 26 was killed by the impact of the crash.
Dominique Davis, 21, died of “blunt force injuries due to the accident,” said Orangeburg County coroner Sean Fogle in a written statement on Thursday.” Davis was killed on Monday near exit 159 on I-26 near Bowman around 9:41 p.m., according an Orangeburg County sheriff’s incident report.
Ebony Nicole Roddick, 31, has been charged with failing to help Davis or provide information about the incident, according to the arrest warrant. Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the investigation into Davis’ death is ongoing.
Roddick told investigators that Davis jumped from the van in which they were traveling in, according to the arrest warrant. But a witness, who was not identified in the incident report, told investigators Davis might have been pushed out of the van.
