Driver killed in fiery early-morning crash in Richland County

One person is dead after a crash early Sunday morning in Richland County.

A Toyota Avalon was traveling north on Clement Road and ran off the right side of the road at about 12:35 a.m., according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. The vehicle struck some trees, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle caught fire, Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said.
