Suspect in gun theft sought by Richland County Sheriff

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a suspect wanted for larceny.

During a May 6 meeting inside the victim’s vehicle, at the corner of Foxhunt Road and Charleswood Drive, the alleged suspect stole a handgun, according to Sheriff Leon Lott.

The alleged suspect pretended to want to purchase the victim’s handgun, but ran away with it, said Lott, adding the victim has no relation to the suspect.
