Suspect uses pistol in early morning West Columbia armed robbery

Lexington County deputies are investigating an armed robbery of a West Columbia convenience store earlier this month.

A suspect entered POPS convenience store on the 2800 block of Emanuel Church Road around 2:10 a.m. Aug. 10, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

A witness reported the suspect was armed with a pistol and stole cash from the register and cigarettes.

The surveillance images show the suspect wearing black shoes, black socks, black shorts, a black jacket and a beige hat.

Detectives described the suspect as a while male in his 20s. He is about 5-feet 6-inches to 5-feet 9-inches tall weighing between 160 and 190 pounds.
