Driving in Irmo today? Police setting up traffic checkpoint so drivers slow down

Irmo police will set up a traffic safety checkpoint Tuesday afternoon in an effort to encourage safe driving.

Irmo Police Department reported its officers will conduct a traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of Friarsgate Boulevard and Fallsbury Road in the Friarsgate Subdivision.

The traffic stop will take place between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. while many people are returning home from work.
