Fight turns into hit-and-run in Arthurtown Friday night

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC A physical fight between two people ended with a third person driving her car into the back of one of the original fighters Friday night, Richland County sheriff’s deputies say.

The fight happened around 8 p.m. Friday at Aster Street and Blair Road in the Arthurtown community off of Shop Road, according to the sheriff’s department.

A third person, a female suspect, drove her car to the area and saw an acquaintance of hers involved in the altercation, deputies say. The woman then drove her car into the back of one of the people involved in the fight, deputies say.

The victim fell onto the car and then onto the ground as the suspect drove away, deputies say.

The victim was taken to Palmetto Health Baptist hospital. The extent of the victim’s injuries was not immediately known Saturday morning.

The sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate the incident.
