Former judge’s aide has Richland County courtroom dedicated to her
More than 150 judges, prosecutors and lawyers turned out Monday to see a flower-bedecked Richland County courtroom dedicated to a former longtime respected assistant to Circuit Judge Casey Manning.
Ada Harper James, 85 and retired, worked 22 years as an aide to Manning.
She served in a variety of higher education and federal posts before going to work for Manning.
Among the speakers were Richland County bar association president Jody Bedenbaugh, County Councilman Seth Rose, lawyers I.S. Leevy Johnson, and Manning.
