Robber points handgun at cashier, demands cash before fleeing Garners Ferry Road business

A robber armed with a handgun pointed it toward a cashier at a convenience store before stealing cash and fleeing the scene, according to officials.

The suspect walked into Corner Pantry, 7850 Garners Ferry Road, around 11 p.m. Tuesday and presented a handgun, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect reportedly demanded money from the register and stole cash from the business.

Surveillance video taken from the store showed the suspect walking up to the cashier right after a customer left. In the video, the cashier holds her hands up after seeing the handgun.

Investigators believe the suspect fled the area in a newer model white Saturn SUV with paper tags.

Surveillance video showed the suspect wearing all black and covering his face.
