Chapin man charged with child pornography

The South Carolina Attorney General’s office announced Friday that it has charged a Chapin man with 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Larry Carl Trevathan, 58, was taken into custody on Thursday.

He is accused of participating in the distribution of child pornography through a file sharing network, the AG’s office said in a news release.

No other details about the case were provided.

In July, 2014, Trevathan was charged with 10 counts of child sexual exploitation in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Trevathan was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center Friday afternoon.
