Columbia police investigating shooting incident
A man was taken to an area hospital after being hurt fleeing an alleged shooting on Monday night.
The man was involved in an altercation on the 900 block of Marlboro Street around 11 p.m., according to the Columbia Police Department. He wasn’t shot, but hurt his lower leg jumping a fence as he ran away after hearing gun shots, the police said.
The injury was described as non-life threatening and the man was treated at an area hospital, according to the police, adding the man might have been arguing with someone before the shooting.
The Columbia Police Department is investigating the incident and is trying to find out who shot at the man.
