Richland 1 seeks bus driver applicants

Richland 1 is seeking qualified school bus driver applicants.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma and complete the training process.

School bus drivers must pass a background investigation including a SLED check and a DMV records check. They must maintain a commercial driver’s license with passenger, air brake and federal school bus endorsements.

Drivers must complete 20 hours of classroom instruction and pass a State Department of Education certification test. They also must complete on the road training and pass a driving evaluation. Each driver must pass a physical assessment test and is subject to random monthly drug screening, in addition to 10 hours of annual training to maintain proficiency.
